Peas are one of the sweetest vegetables out there so why is it then, that so many children have a problem eating them. It could be because of the way they are prepared. Canned peas are probably the most despised of all but have you ever tried some of that baby food? They signify the beginning of spring as peas are planted before the end of the winter season to be picked and enjoyed in the spring.

Cooking With Peas - They Don't Deserve the Bad Rap

Peas got a bad reputation. You know the old nursery rhyme:

Pease porridge hot, Pease porridge cold, Pease porridge in the pot Nine days old. If you grew up in Renaissance England pease porridge was a thick stew made of peas which were inexpensive and easy to get. Few peasants could afford meat so every meal started with the pease porridge and other things they could find were added to it. They ate it morning, noon, night and hot or cold. They never washed out the pot, the next morning the added to it.
